Business Flyer fly

The business flyer was probably one of my favorite things to do. I think it was because I like the since of professionalism that comes with a business flyer, while and advertisement tends to be more playful. Nonetheless, a business flyer should still just as bold as an advertisement. For my business flyer, I chose a picture from that featured a guy singing in front of a roaring crowd. I chose a blacked out person to make it easier for anyone looking at the business flyer could possibly envision themselves in that persons shoes. Of course the business flyer was for the FAMOUS fictitious J.B. Music Company. The text is not written in the boring Times New Roman font, but it is written in a font that is attractive, yet easy to read. The yellow stars on the flyer are to add a since of glamour and fame to the page. For the most part, who does not want to be famous?

Album Cover

For my CD cover, I decided to title it Black and White after one of my favorite songs by the late and great Michael Jackson. I originally was going to use a fictitious music artist, but I thought it would be more fun to use myself as the artist of the CD. I got the pictures from my MySpace account when I through my black and white phase of photo taking last year. Photoshop came in handy when it came time for me to crop the pictures from the original background. To blend the picture I used the gradient and the feather tool in InDesign to make the picture blend in with the back ground. At the top part of the front and back of the cover, I used some elements of line we talked about in class. I made the design black and white for the sake of sticking close to the theme of the album.

Logo

logo1

The logo I made was for fictitious business called J.B. Music Company. The logo features three basic shapes; a rectangle, circle and a star. They may be simple shapes, but I centered them with each other placed them behind one another to give it a since of complexity. In the center of the shapes lies a music symbol which I made in Photoshop. At the center of the music symbol is a cursive J that is signature with the company name. All the elements of the logo are centered so that your eyes are drawn to the bigger outside edges of the logo first, and you seem to follow the trend of the objects getting smaller until you reach the absolute center of the logo which is the J. I believe that is a good effect because it allows you to look at all the elements of the logo instead just parts of it. When I think of some logos, like Starbucks old logo, I never really paid attention to the words surrounding the main part of the logo, which was the lady. Customers should be able to account for all aspects of a companys logo, no matter how simple or complex.
